Please download our Online Form, and Radius Chart
below to help you provide the neccessary information we need.

You must have Microsoft Word installed on your computer to download this file.

Below is what need to measure your console.

Print out this whole instruction page.

Order Form - Click here to print out this form. Save a copy of this form to your desktop (make sure you save it as a "word 2002" compatible) and print out one copy to hand write your measurements on at your console location. Then you will take that information and type it into the form you saved on your desk top and email it with your pictures.

Radius Chart -
click here to print out this chart. You need this to determine how much of a radius your console has. Note: Please be sure to set your "Page Scaling" to "None" in your "Print Dialog" box under "Page Handling" or the radius chart will print at the wrong scale and you will get a wrong radius reading!

Different Style Consoles...

There is not enough room here to explore the various center consoles on the market. We will look at a few of the common ones to illustrate how to measure a console for a new windshield. If you have an unusual console such as some bass boats that have large radial curves please email us pictures so we can direct you to the next step.
Sharp Corner, Large Corner, and Recessed Lip Consoles...

Even though these 3 types of consoles are different, there is a common way to measure them. It is important that you give us the exact measurement! Please do not add or take away from the actual measurements to compensate for windshield mounting! Please let us do the math! There are material tollerances you may not be aware of that can cause the shield to not fit properly.

Measuring a console is basically the same for all of the examples shown above with the main exception of the radius corners. This will be dealt with later in these instructions. Below are some examples of where you need to take your measurements from.

Let's start with the A B C's...
Below is the first step in measuring your console. The A- measurement can be taken from the top of your bench seat if you have one or from the deck if you don't. The B- measurement is taken from the flat sides as close to the front as you can get without measuring on the curve. The C- measurement is the vertical height of the console in the center. As you can see this console has a tapered face shape to it. This is important as the windshield needs to follow this taper on its bends! If your console has no taper to it please give us these measurements anyway.

Notice that this console has a recessed lip around the top edge of the console. It is important that the B- measurement be taken from side to side on top of the console as close to the front as possible without measuring into the curve corner, not on the outside of the second level! See the two pictures below. If your console does not have a recessed lip then just measure side to side as close to the front as possible without measuring in the curve.

Now the D and E's...
This is the final measurements before we move on to the radius corner radius measurments. Here you can see more clearly the B- measurement. Notice it is after the curve turns into the side panel. This applies to all consoles no mattter how small or large the corner radius is.The D- measurement is taken from the front of the console to the back of the console or in this case where the lip stops. This is a bit more restrictive as the shield needs to not excede where the lip stops. This would cause the shield to stick out pass the front of the console if the side of the shield was to long! The E- measurement is taken where the back of the console is, side to side, only as far back as you want the windshield to go!. This measurement determines the back spread of the winshield at its base.

Now the radius corner...
We are going to simplfy this step. You will need a radius chart to do this step. You can click here to print out this chart.. Take it to you console, place it on top like the illustration below and see what diameter radius your corners are. In this example the radius is 4". Please download our online form to your desktop (make sure you save it as a "word 2002" compatible) to help you provide the neccessary information we need. You must have Microsoft Word installed on your computer to download this file. Click here to print out this form. After you fill the form out you will need to email it to us with your pictures.

A side Profile...

The final step is to determine the backward slant of the console. Some consoles are 90 degrees off the deck and have no backward tilt. Others do lean back but have a 90 degree angle off the front of the console. In these two examples below the windshield will not need to be cut at the bottom on the side wings. It is still mandatory to take these kinds of pictures and foward them to us in your request to be sure.

You must provide a picture like the one on the left! It must be a straight in shot, not from the top like the one one the right ! We need this to determine slant angle!

In the picture below this type of console needs definite attention. This requires the windshield to have an angled bottom. If you have this kind of console you definitly need to take a side picture like this and send it to us! It is important that you shoot the picture exactly like this so we can accurately measure the angle!

Some final considerations...

Now that you have all of your console measurements, its time to consider a few things. First lets revue what you should have done.

If you skip any one of these steps we will not quote you! You will be asked to complete the missing information! Please submit all required information below!

1- Measure letters A, B, and C.
2- Measure Letters D, and E.

3- Measure the corner radius with the printed out chart.
4- Take picture of your console from the side. If you have a windshield please give us pictures of that as well to help us with shape and contour. High resolution pictures only! Do not send small low resolution! We need to zoom in so it does not blur out. Please no Kodak gallery format pictures! They need to be in the attachment as .jpeg format only!

Now its time to consider a few things:

5 - Do you want a space between your console and windshield to flush out trash? The average space is 1/4".
6 - What thickness material do you want? We have 1/4" and 3/8".
7 - What color do you want? See below the color samples.
8- You must decide how high you want your shield to be in the front!

9- Take a picture of your whole boat and console. High resolution pictures only! Do not send small low resolution! Do not send small low resolution! We need to zoom in so it does not blur out. Please no Kodak gallery format pictures! They need to be in the attahment as .jpeg format only!

10 - Include Make, Model, Year, and Size of your boat. Email all of this to us. No faxes please!

*Be sure to do all of the 10 steps at the same time so there is no confusion, and loss of time!

*Please download our online form to help you provide the neccessary information we need After you fill the form out you will need to email it to us.
